About D.Pharm Course:
Diploma in Pharmacy course is designed for students with the necessary skills and grasping academic knowledge for entry-level positions in retail pharmacies as well as pharmaceutical companies.
D.Pharm course essentially provides an overview of the theory and various principles and practices involved in the science of pharmacy. Diploma in Pharmacy course is designed to help candidates to work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in hospitals, community pharmacies, and other related pharmaceutical fields. It is a 2-year course that enables students to gain adequate knowledge about pharmacy and related disciplines.
Subjects of Study in this course include Pharmaceutics, Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Human Anatomy, Clinical Pharmacy and Drug Store Business Management amongst many other.
About B.Pharm Course:
This qualification enables you to optimize the use of medicine in the society. With a firm grounding in chemical, physical and biological studies, you can pursue professional specialities later on. In the initial years practical and clinical studies will provide you with a solid base.
The course of B. Pharm will extend over a period of four academic years. The curricula and syllabi for the course will be prescribed from time to time by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University Lucknow.
The course is spread across eight semesters. In the first semester the basics of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy and Mathematics are studied. In the second year the students are trained in the principles of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Immunology, Pharmaceutical Biochemistry. An understanding of Pharmaceutical Business Management is provided in the third year alongside a project work. In depth knowledge in Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Analysis is imparted as a special focus in the final year.
During the undergraduate course, a student not only learns the scientific concepts but also laboratory skills and attitude to exchange the knowledge between a physician and a patient.
About M.Pharm Course:
M.PHARM
M.Pharm, a post graduate course run by KNIMT-Faculty of Pharmacy and is affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. AKTU University, Lucknow. A choice of 2 disciplines is available at present and the areas are as follows:
A) Pharmaceutics:
The department of pharmaceutics is one of the key departments of the Institute. It is equipped with state of the art facilities to undertake research in drug development and delivery. In the frontier area of Biomaterial research, the focus will be for synthesis and characterization of new biodegradable polymer, their formulations for various drug delivery systems, to improve surface biocompatibility of medical devices and their invitro/invivo evaluation.
B) Pharmaceutical Chemistry:
The department is engaged in the following areas of research, Identification and validation of novel target sites for various therapeutic areas: Design and synthesis of new chemical entities as anticancer, antileishmanial, broad-spectrum antimalarial, antihypertensive, antiinflammatory, antidiabatic, anti-viral compounds and multi-drug resistance reversal agents. Pharmaceutical chemistry is at the forefront of innovation, blending synthetic chemistry, molecular modeling, computational biology, and structural genomics, to discover and design new drugs, and investigate their interaction at the molecular, cellular, and whole-animal level.
