Achievement
All the  activities have been  performed in an integrated manner or separately as per needs of the area and also based on principles of collaborative participation of scientists , subject matter specialists, extension workers and farmers.
  • Planning and conducting survey of the operational area in order to prepare inventory with special reference to identifying the training needs of farming community.
  • Planning and conducting production oriented , need based short and long duration training courses both on-campus as well as off-campus for various target group with priority for the weaker and the poor.
  • Providing training and communication support for updating the knowledge of extension functionaries of the line departments.
  • Providing practical training to school dropouts and other rural youth in various vocation for self-employment.
  • Developing and strengthening of infrastructural facilities for conducting effective training  and demonstration of latest technologies.
  • Conducting demonstration and On-Farm trials by introducing latest production technology for augmenting the agriculture production .
  • To test , adopt and demonstrate the technology related to ravines the alkali reclamation and their suitability in local condition regarding crop production , orchard raising and forestry according to  needs of the individuals , community and land capability to meet the requirements of feed ,fodder ,fuel and timber.
  • Developing and organizing non-formal education programs by way of field, days, farmer’s fair, farm visits, radio-talks ,farm science clubs etc. as follow-up information support.
  • Establishment of linkage with line departments , research institutions , agricultural universities and various developmental agencies at district , state and national level for development and strengthening of infrastructural facilities for implementation of various activities at village level.
  • Arrangement of inputs such as latest varieties of crops , vegetable seeds , saplings, seedlings, agricultural implement, improved breed of goat , cows , buffaloes , chicks , fingerlings , fodder seeds for farmers of district.
  • Implementing all such schemes of other departments/ organizations which intend to strengthen the training program of the Kendra as well as betterment of the life of rural community.

  A piece of 110 acres sodic land having pH range of 9.5 to 10.5 and above, located 16 km. Away from KVK headquarter has been developed by using the recommended technologies as such and use of alternative measures to minimize the cost reclamation. the reclaimed areas was utilized for crop production (65 acres) ,fruit production (15 acres), forestry (25 acres) and fish rearing by utilizing existing ponds having an areas of 3 acres and the rest is covered in building, threshing floor, channels, roads, etc. The main objective of the unit was to demonstrate the reclamation technologies , possible crop rotations conducting trials in relation to water and nutrient management and varietals performance of different crops . Apart from these , multiplication of seeds was the major objective to fulfill the seed requirement of the suitability of the farmers .Fruit production and forestry was taken as another enterprise to find out the suitability of reclamation technology as such and in modified forms to see the survival, growth, fruiting behavior, productivity and longevity of plants planted alone or in combination at different spacings. The solt tolerant trees like ber, aonla, guava,karaunda,etc  among the fruit crops, whereas, arjun, siras, kanjii, prosopis, subabool, sheesham etc. among the forest trees species were selected for planting. The existing old ponds were developed for fish culture by treating with gypsum and organic manures , like cowdung, poultry manure and growing of dhaincha crop for green manuring. The data generated during the period of five years in relation to reclamation , package of practice .
